Traveling to New Mexico...

This post is a little different from the rest of my blog posts. If you've followed along you know I only share my clients work on here, but today I've decided to open up and share a little bit about who I am as a photographer and what's inspired me lately. I'm hoping to share a bit more of my work here other than my client’s work so here goes nothing.

Last year during Covid lockdown my husband and I decided to leave Texas and try a new state we've never traveled to. We decided on New Mexico. We usually travel east coast most of the time, but we decided to step out and try something different. So when we decided on New Mexico we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into and omg it was one of the best decisions we've made (at least in my opinion).

When we arrived I was blown away by New Mexico's beauty, and honestly it has been one of my favorite places to visit. The mountains are gorgeous, the views are breathtaking, and the culture is so beautiful. If you love color, New Mexico is your place!

Another reason why I enjoy New Mexico so much is the small amount of people living there. We live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and there is literally 7,637,387 people living here. This large number overwhelms me. In New Mexico the population is only 2.1 million people in the entire state. I know 2.1 million is still a large amount of people, but that number is small compared to Dallas. No one in New Mexico seems to be in a rush and that calms my anxiety ridden mind. That’s part of the reason why I love the state so much.

Anyway, I've learned a lot about what inspires me this year and travel is one of the things that really brings me joy, so here are some photos of New Mexico. The photos were taken in Albuquerque, Madrid, Santa Fe, Taos, and Pecos, New Mexico. If you haven't been to the state of New Mexico I highly recommend it.
